Pointerly Browser Extension Guide

Overview

The Pointerly browser extension lets your team generate tracked affiliate links directly from supported product pages and sync creator opportunity workflows into Pointerly.

Adding the app (required)

Sign in to Pointerly and open Dashboard > Settings > Extension.
Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
Return to Pointerly and click Connect Extension.
Complete extension authentication to bind your browser session with your active Pointerly team.
Confirm status is Connected before creating links from store pages.

Usage (required)

Generate affiliate links in-page

Use case: Create tracked links while browsing product listings.

Prerequisites:

Extension is connected in Pointerly settings.
Team has at least one valid affiliate tag configured.

Open a supported store product page.
Launch the Pointerly extension.
Generate link and confirm selected affiliate tag.
Copy link or save it to Pointerly workflows.

Sync creator opportunities

Use case: Keep Creator Connections opportunities visible in your workspace without manual copy-paste.

Prerequisites:

Extension connected to the correct team workspace.
Creator Connections feature enabled for the team.

Open extension from supported marketplace context.
Run sync action for opportunities.
Validate imported opportunities in Dashboard workflows.

Removing the app (required)

Disconnect from Pointerly

Open Settings > Extension.
Click Disconnect.
Confirm status changes from Connected to not connected.

Remove from browser

Open Chrome extension manager.
Select Pointerly extension.
Choose Remove and confirm.

Deauthorization implications

Extension can no longer create or sync links.
Existing links and records in Pointerly remain available.
Reconnection requires a new auth flow.

Troubleshooting

Extension not detected

Confirm you are using Google Chrome.
Verify extension is installed and enabled.
Reload Pointerly settings page and retry detection.

Connect flow fails

Ensure you are signed into the intended team workspace.
Retry connect from settings and complete auth prompt.
